'Jurassic World 2' spoilers: Claire to evolve as film's new protagonist

Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) returns in 'Jurassic World 2.'Universal Pictures

There will be big changes in Bryce Dallas Howard's character in the upcoming "Jurassic World 2" film.

In a recent interview with Movie Pilot, director Colin Trevorrow revealed that Howard's character Claire plays an important role in the new "Jurassic Park" sequel trilogy, and she will have to take the lead at some point of the series.

"Claire is the one who evolves the most over the trilogy, it's her story that mirrors this changing world," the director explained.

Trevorrow also mentioned that Chris Pratt's character Owen will go through a difficult situation, and he could not possibly deal with it alone. "The two of them opened Pandora's Box in Jurassic World and each of them are responsible for different elements of it in different ways, and I think the way that these characters are connected to the circumstances of what's happening it's different than the previous films," the filmmaker added.

This could possibly mean that the plot for "Jurassic World 2" has something to do with the end results of the events that happened in the box-office hit "Jurassic World," where tragedy struck when the company where Claire works, Masrani Corporation, decided to add an attraction to the Jurassic World theme park by creating a bigger, more dangerous dinosaur. That decision almost caused a lot of lives.

According to speculations, Claire will have to stop other corporations from abusing the technology developed by her company.

Meanwhile, a report from IMDB revealed that Claire's elder nephew in the film, Zach (Nick Robinson), will become one of the main characters in the sequel. The young actor revealed in his previous interview with Screen Rant that it would be interesting to see more dinosaurs in the upcoming films.

"I'd like to see them explore more real dinosaurs that have not been introduced to the Jurassic world yet, I know they did the mosasaurus, the big water one, that's a real dinosaur. And maybe they could do the megalodon next time, the big ol' shark." Robinson stated.

"Jurassic World 2" is slated to premiere on June 22, 2018.
