'Just Cause 3' Collector's Edition release date: version to include grappling hook

 Square Enix Store

Game company Square Enix has announced that "Just Cause 3" will have a Collector's Edition and it will come with a replica grappling hook based on the main protagonist Rico's iconic in-game tool.

The grappling hook is stylized to closely fit Rico's in-game travel equipment. Its addition to the bundle is the result of numerous votes by fans, when publisher Square Enix did a survey early this year to ask gamers what they want to include in the title's release. Other items which hardcore fans selected from included a nine-inch Rico statue, a remote-control helicopter, a camouflage backpack, and a destructible statue and puzzle.

The "Just Cause 3" Collector's Edition will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC when the game is launched on Dec. 1. The bundle can be purchased for $110 for the console versions and $100 for the PC version. Aside from the 15-inch signature grappling hook rreplica, the Collector's Edition also includes: a 32-page hardcover art book; an official map of Medici, the string of islands in "Just Cause 3's" Mediterranean setting; and items from the Day One Edition of the game, including the weaponized vehicle pack.

"Just Cause 3" is just one of the many upcoming releases that mostly include real-life replicas of in-game items or exclusive bundle add-ons. Just recently, Bethesda has unveiled a special edition bundle pack for its upcoming post-apocalyptic platformer, "Fallout 4," which includes a real-life working Pip-Boy, an equipment which was introduced on the "Fallout" series. Meanwhile, other upcoming releases with confirmed special edition expansions are "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" with a working mini-fridge; "Mirror's Edge Catalyst," featuring a replica statue of both young and adult Faith, the main protagonist in the series; and "Skylanders Superchargers," with its Dark Edition bundles offering exclusive amiibo figures that differ for each platform.
