'Justice League' films cast Willem Dafoe as one of the good guys
Willem Dafoe joins the stellar cast of DC Entertainment's two "Justice League" movies.
After portraying Spider-Man's biggest villain, Green Goblin, in Marvel's "Spider-Man" trilogy, Dafoe will become one of the good guys in the DC Extended Universe films, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
The stars in the upcoming films include Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Amber Heard as Mera, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon.
However, Dafoe's role in the two movies remains unknown. DC and Warner Bros. are also secretive about the possible villain in the film. But those who have watched "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" believe that the Justice League superheroes will be combatting Darkseid in the upcoming movies.
Another report from The Hollywood Reporter listed down some of the possible roles for Dafoe, including the super-spy Snapper Carr, Ted Grant from the Earth-2 version of Justice League, The New Gods leader Highfather, or the Justice League founding member J'Onn J'Onzz. However, both DC and Warner Bros. remain mum about the subject.
Filming for "Justice League: Part One" reportedly began on April 11 at the Leavesden studio of Warner Bros. located in the southeastern part of England. The film is also scheduled to film in different areas all over London, Scotland and Iceland.
The script for the movie was written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Chris Terrio, and is being directed by "Batman v Superman" filmmaker Zack Snyder. The two have worked in several DC projects together, specifically "Man of Steel" in 2013 and this year's "Batman v Superman."
"Justice League: Part One" is scheduled for release on Nov. 17, 2017, while "Justice League: Part Two" will come out on June 14, 2019.
