"Justice League" premiered in theaters everywhere last month, earning mixed reactions from casual viewers and comic book fans alike. Recently, Warner Bros. Pictures dropped a clip from the movie that features Batman (Ben Affleck) taking on the Parademons.

This particular scene follows the caped crusader, along with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and their new teammate Barry Allen (Ezra Miller), heading underneath Gotham City to check out the suspicious activity that was caused by the Parademons.

For those who are not familiar, the Parademons are Steppenwolf's (Ciarán Hinds) minions who feed on fear and hunt living beings. As seen in the trailer, the existing Parademons capture and convert soldiers at random during the battle. One shot, in particular, features a soldier being instantly turned into the extra-terrestrial being, like a virus that quickly spreads.

The film version of these minions is a little different from ones in the New 52 comics, where technology was used to convert the captured living beings into the extra-terrestrial creatures to serve under Darkseid.

As to why Warner Bros. decided to drop the clip, could it be a little tease for those who have not been able to see the film yet? Maybe. But it is a pleasant surprise either way.

Having finally screened several weeks ago, the film has garnered over half a billion dollars in box-office totals worldwide. However, the first team-up movie of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was pushed to second place when Disney-Pixar's "Coco" premiered over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Going into numbers, "Justice League" is reportedly the lowest-performing release of the DCEU, following the summer blockbuster "Wonder Woman," "Suicide Squad," the controversial "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," and the film that jumpstarted the franchise "Man of Steel." The Superman-centric movie is not expected to be overtaken by "Justice League" despite bringing together several of DC Comics' most iconic heroes in one movie for the first time.

Apart from the mediocre box-office sales compared to the other DCEU releases, fans are now pushing to get an extended director's cut of "Justice League." The movie was first helmed by Zack Snyder but he was forced to leave directing duties after experiencing a family tragedy.

Director and writer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "The Avengers" and possibly the "Batgirl" solo movie, Joss Whedon, stepped in to take his place and some reports said that there was disorder behind the scenes. Along with Whedon, Danny Elfman was brought on board to score the film, replacing Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL, who were initially tapped to score the movie.

Speaking of Whedon, while there are fans who are pushing to see Snyder's cut of "Justice League," there are fans who are pushing to get Whedon's cut of the movie as well. Given that Whedon only stepped in for the remainder of the film as Snyder filmed most of it, this might seem unlikely. The petition circulating online for Whedon's cut has fewer signatures than the one for Snyder's.

This stems from a tweet made by Mario Robles, a freelance writer for sites like IGN. Robles tweeted that Warner Bros. was planning to make "Justice League" part of the Superman trilogy for home release. That might get some fans' hopes up, especially those who are pushing for Snyder's extended cut to be part of the digital release. But, Robles then continued that the extended version that fans will find in the home release would be for the theatrical cut.

"Justice League" is now showing in theaters everywhere.
