Although there are only weeks to go until the premiere of "Justice League," it seems that Warner Bros. is already working on the sequel.

Speaking to Total Film, J.K. Simmons, who plays Commissioner James Gordon in the DC Extended Universe, revealed that the screenplay for the second installment is already being written. The sequel will have the heroes most likely facing off against Darkseid after having taken on Steppenwolf in the first movie. The actor went on to reveal what fans and audiences can expect in the upcoming movie and its following installment.

"Well, Commissioner Gordon wears a trench coat in every scene, so I don't know what the "pumped up" part is going to be all that evident, especially when you're standing next to Batman! But this is the first "Justice League" movie, we hope, of a few," said Simmons.

Simmons also went on to say that Warner Bros. is also working on the script for "The Batman" aside from the second "Justice League" movie. This is where his take on Commissioner Gordon will be introduced. "I don't have a lot to do. I feel like I just dipped my toe in the water of who Commissioner Gordon will be," explained Simmons. With that in mind, it seems that Simmons will most likely be reprising his role in both films.

For now, fans can catch Simmons as the Commissioner in the upcoming superhero team-up movie.

Speaking of who else will be in the upcoming film, it was rumored that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was going to be cut from the film, despite his name still being mentioned as part of the cast. Naturally, this led everyone to wonder whether or not Superman's arch enemy will still be in the film in some form or another.

A new report revealed that Lex Luthor was at least intended to be in the upcoming movie. However, the possibility of his scenes being cut has yet to be seen. Although Luthor was seen imprisoned at the end of "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," he is appearing again in "Justice League," and will definitely be working side-by-side with Steppenwolf.

The rumors stemmed from the reactions of select few who got to see the film ahead of its release. However, the screening was also one of the early cuts, so it is possible that Lex Luthor could be appearing in the movie again.

"Justice League" will premiere on Nov. 17.
