'Justice League 2' plot rumors, news: Concept art for supervillain Darkseid revealed

Comic book art for DarkseidDC

Fans of "Justice League" are in for quite a doom-filled treat, as the ultimate DC universe villain Darkseid may have already been adapted for live-action after some people "spotted" him in a "Justice League" featurette.

The said behind-the-scenes sequence from the movie's special Blu-ray and DVD copies showcase how The Flash's costume was created for the movie. Thus, a lot of concept art was being shown and one shot even gave a spotlight to the concept artists' stations — this was where some eagle-eyed viewers caught a glimpse of what appears to be a concept art for Darkseid, the ruler of Apokolips and arguably the most powerful supervillain the Justice League has ever faced.

Granted what people saw was just a mere silhouette of the supervillain, though it did fit his build and stature, as can be recalled by DC comics fans who have seen Darkseid in action both in graphic novel media or cartoon animations. Still, the lack of details could prove otherwise, since there is also no way of confirming that it really was Darkseid which the silhouette hinted. For all everyone knows, it might as well be just another typical computer-generated imagery (CGI) baddie who had similar features to Darkseid.

Still, the prospect is quite an exciting one for fans of DC since the Justice League's battles with Darkseid has always been the most frantic crescendo of the superhero collective. This is because Darkseid is essentially a nigh-unkillable god who is out to conquer all the planets of the universe or other universes. As such, he is regarded as among the top supervillains in the DC universe.

It is worth noting that "Justice League's" main antagonist, Steppenwolf, was actually Darkseid's henchman and one of his trusted Elites. Fans can recall that he was defeated, by the League, meaning something bigger or more sinister could be on the way for the next movie. Whether this would be Darkseid remains to be seen.
