Actor Jason Momoa, who is playing the character of Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, in the DC superhero team-up film "Justice League," thinks fans of his character may find the upcoming movie wanting. He said that fans may have to wait for his solo movie to really get the Aquaman they want to see.

According to the actor, the Aquaman that will be portrayed in "Justice League" is "not quite there yet."

"It may be tough for a lot of fans to watch what they're gonna see, how I portray him," said Momoa in a report by Syfy Wire. "But you gotta wait until we get to the solo movie to really know. Because he's not King yet."

The actor explained that the Curry that will be seen in "Justice League" is not really fond of Atlanteans or of the idea of being Aquaman.

"He doesn't believe in himself," the actor continued. "He doesn't know what to do with the powers he has. He's going through tons of loss. He hates Atlanteans. The fact that people are calling him 'Aquaman' right now - he couldn't give two shits about anything Atlantean. So he's really not quite there yet."

However, this does not mean that viewers will not enjoy the action that comes with the sea-dwelling hero. In the recently released trailer for the upcoming movie, Aquaman looked to be having the most fun, laughing and exclaiming in joy, even as he was in the thick of fighting.

It is possible that the movie will introduce the character as a troublemaking, action-loving hero that thrives in battles and competition. The rest of the character's origin and character arc may have to wait until his solo film is released.

Momoa's film "Aquaman" is slated for a Dec. 21, 2018 release, whereas "Justice League" will be released in cinemas on Nov. 17.
