A report from Heroic Hollywood stated that Warner Bros. was circling around four different titles for the upcoming "Justice League" film. However, according to Geoff Johns, chief creative officer of DC Comics and now in charge of the DCEU, the title of the movie is simply "Justice League."

According to a report from Movie Web, the decision to stick with a simple title may have been done to achieve several goals at once.

There is the fact that there has never been a "Justice League" movie and by sticking to a simple title the film can bank its marketing on this fact alone, akin to how Marvel marketed the first "Avengers" film, which was simply titled "The Avengers."

It is also explained that this will distance the film from "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Not only is the latter riddled with a long and complex title but critics and audiences alike did not respond well to the film, which ultimately led to a box office result that was below what Warner Bros. expected.

Cinema Blend reports that this change in title completely eliminates any potential spoiler that could be gleaned from the film. With a simple title the only plot spoiler that can be derived is that the movie will feature the titular heroes and nothing more.

One of the rumored titles from Heroic Hollywood was "Justice League: Gods Among Us" and this would imply that the film would pursue the storyline hinted by the appearance of the Flash (Ezra Miller) in "Batman v Superman."

Another rumored title was "Justice League: United" and this indicated that the movie would focus on Batman (Ben Affleck) assembling the team. This was hinted at in the end of "Batman v Superman."

The report also points out that the simple title also mirrors the approach of the upcoming "Suicide Squad," which is getting a lot of positive feedback with its early reviews.

"Justice League" will release in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
