Actor Ben Affleck recently shared his disappointment with the fact that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" did not fare well with critics and audiences despite it earning nearly $1 billion worldwide. Despite this, Deadline reports that the actor has been promoted to executive producer for the upcoming "Justice League" films.

According to the report, Affleck will be working hand-in-hand with director Zack Snyder and writer Chris Terrio in order to make sure that the two-part "Justice League" films will be of the best quality possible. The actor will also continue his duties portraying Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the films. 

Deadline points out that this is a smart move on Warner Bros. Pictures part given that Affleck has proven his skills as a writer and director, particularly with his Academy Award-winning script on "Good Will Hunting," which he wrote together with actor Matt Damon, and the Academy Award-winning film "Argo," which he directed.

The actor also directed "The Town" and "Gone Baby Gone" and is currently working on his fourth directorial project, "Live By Night." The actor has also worked on "Gone Girl," which was critically acclaimed and earned actress Rosamund Pike an Academy nomination for Best Actress. 

Affleck will be joining fellow producers Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder and George Miller, who recently directed "Mad Max: Fury Road." Fans speculate that he will be assisting Zack Snyder in piecing the films together, serving as an un-credited co-director as much as he is a producer.

It is unclear at this point how much control Ben Affleck will have over the two "Justice League" films but it has been previously reported that he and DC comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns have been given full control over the solo "Batman" movie, which also ties into the rest of the DCEU. 

"Justice League: Part One" opens in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
