Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been rumoured to be dating for over a month now. As such, fans have been hoping to see "Jelena" during the 2017 American Music Awards (AMAs) to confirm their relationship. However, like last year, Bieber was missing in action, leaving Gomez to rock a new blonde hairstyle alone.

It was only a few weeks after The Weeknd and Gomez had officially called it quits when Jelena started happening again. Neither of them has said anything about their relationship, but fans like to think otherwise. Pictures have surfaced on the internet of the two spending a lot of time together.

They were seen in public getting breakfast together, riding bikes, attending church, and most recently, they shared a kiss during a hockey game, something which definitely shook Jelena fans. Fans were then hoping to see them together again walking down the red carpet during the AMAs just like the old times. Sadly, it did not happen as the now-blonde Gomez walked alone.

Due to his absence, Bieber missed showing off Gomez's new hairdo, as well as receiving praise for his recent professional successes. Bieber was nominated for three awards with two of his songs on the list: DJ Khaled's "I'm The One" and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito."

Had he gone to the awards, he probably would have hit two birds with one stone, supporting both his own music and even Selena's music. Gomez debuted her new single "Wolves," after having gone through a kidney transplant, which made her step back from music for a while.

Meanwhile, according to ELLE, fans noticed how Bieber liked and then unliked Gomez's photo on Instagram. While nobody knows what this really means, at least fans know he was thinking of her wherever he was.
