The Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber has made a timely reminder for all his fans on social media regarding the true meaning of Easter. The 24-year-old singer took on Instagram to tell millions of his followers that the Easter Sunday is not meant for a "bunny," rather a time to reflect on the sufferings that Jesus Christ had to endure to save mankind from sins.

The "Sorry" and "What Do You Mean" hitmaker is able to keep up with his fans through Instagram, where he posts pictures from his getaways and gigs, although he used the social media platform on Easter Sunday, April 1, to give a meaningful message. The latest Instagram photo was snapped from the notes section of his phone, in which he expressed his thoughts on what should be celebrated during Easter.

"Easter is not about a bunny, it's a reminder that my Jesus died on the cross for my sins and then rose from the dead defeating death! I believe this happened and it changes everything! I am set free from bondage and shame, I am a child of the most high God and he loves me exactly where I am, how I am, for who I am," Bieber said on Instagram.

While being one of the most celebrated persons in the music industry, the singer did not shy away from professing his faith as a Christian, and with his recent message, he once again acknowledged the fact that Jesus died on the cross for his sins. Easter is one of the main holidays celebrated by Christians all over the world every year, which is centered on Jesus' resurrection from the dead after his crucifixion.

Over the years, the commemoration of this event has taken on different elements, with most people today being familiar with the Easter bunny, as well as having Easter egg hunt for the children.

Over the past few years, Bieber has been very vocal about his love for Jesus Christ, as well as his intention of serving the Lord through music. Per Billboard, the singer has been very much involved in Hillsong Church recently. In spite of the busy schedule as a celebrity, Bieber has proven to be a devoted Christian by finding the time to give praise and worship and is reportedly working on new music that is more reflective of his faith values.
