The smartwatch industry is on the rise, and this year witnessed big electronic brand names releasing their own version of wearable devices in the market. But South Korean company Kairso Industries Co. Ltd. brings a new device that can turn an old, conventional watch into a functional smartwatch.

The T-Band device, which can be fitted into any wristwatch, can turn a conventional timepiece into a wearable device. There are three different models that Kairos offers in the market today.

The first one is the T-Band ND, which has no display but has the capacity to provide basic notifications with the use of vibration as well as an LED indicator. It also offers health data and activity monitoring that helps users keep track of their fitness activities.

Then there is the T-Band HD, which provides a "hidden display" that is strategically tucked within the band when the functions of the smartwatch are not in use.

The third is the T-Band OD, which is considered as the flagship product from the crowdfunded company. It has an 11 mm x 25 mm curved PMOLED display with 170 dpi resolution. It also has a touch sensor as well as a high-end glass material that contains an anti-scratch coating. This model also has an onboard microphone to help the product with its text and speech capabilities.

The company managed to come up with the product by raising $73,849 through the help of crowdfunding site Indiegogo.

In its Indiegogo page, the company says, "We are now seeing more and more app support where you can control music, turn speech to text, GPS navigation, and also remote starting your vehicle. More recently a lot of attention has been given to the health benefits of a wearable device. The ability to constantly measure your heart rate, sweat, stress levels, etc., can help analyze your body in a manner we have never seen before."

The T-Band does not come cheap, though. The T-Band ND is priced at $199, while the T-Band HD comes with a $499 price tag. The OD model is sold at $508 per unit.
