Kanye West reportedly suing The Pirate Bay for 'The Life of Pablo' piracy

The Pirate Bay website

The Pirate Bay just started its livestreaming feature, but it got another enemy in Kanye West when it began to share the rapper's recently released "The Life of Pablo" album.

The rapper was outraged after reports said that his new album was leaked online, and he is said to be currently planning to sue The Pirate Bay for allowing the downloading of "The Life of Pablo" more than 500,000 times.

"Kanye is going to meet with his legal team to discuss the possibilities of starting legal action against torrent site Pirate Bay," a source exclusively told Hollywood Life.

The source explained that the rapper is very mad because he possibly lost millions of dollars because of the piracy. Shortly after the album was released on Tidal, the rapper announced on his Twitter account that he is $53 million in debt.

"He's going to talk to his lawyers and see where he stands, and hopefully Tidal will partner up with him in any legal proceedings because it was supposed to be an exclusive release," the source added.

However, TorrentFreak reported that a staff member from The Pirate Bay said that they are not worried about being sued by the rapper. "Our legal department will be waiting," the website;s staff member said.

The Pirate Bay co-founder Pete Sunde shared his opinion on Kanye's rage.

"The album was only released on Tidal, so I'm impressed it got leaked anyhow since fewer people pass by there than at Fort Knox," Sunde stated. "He should be happy someone cares enough to listen to it, so that they signed up for an account to stream the low quality music you get at Tidal"

Aside from letting people download albums like Kanye's, The Pirate Bay also recently launched its new feature where streaming is done on the website. This requires the use of a plugin called Torrents-Time.
