Kathie Lee Comes Back with "Gentle Grace"

Kathie Lee Gifford, famous former co-host of "Live With Regis and Kathie Lee", returns to her fans with a new album, "Gentle Grace".

Kathie, who left the popular show 4 years ago, had once worked as a Christian singer. She has been well-known to be always open about her Christian faith.

For example, when "Live With Regis and Kathie Lee" would invite astrologers to the show, she would say `Oh Reege, how many times have I told you not to believe in stars, but in the one who created the stars?'.

Moreover, her wise handling of her former husband's infidelity in 1997, and her acts in helping changing laws after learning that children in overseas sweatshops were making part of her now-defunct Wal-Mart clothing line, and her other Christian acts are still in the memory of her fans.

However, she has not only been loved by her fans for her holding on to Christian faith and values, but she has also been a target of criticism of the press; she was criticised as sanctimonious.

Her brother, David Epstein, 53, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Manhattan, said in an interview with the Dallas Morning News, "She was open about her faith and that made her a target. But through all the difficult challenges, she has shown such grace and power from the Lord."

She left "Live With Regis and Kathie Lee", saying that her marriage and children needed more attention. Also, at that time her father, Aaron "Eppie" Epstein, who couraged Kathie most to live with her Christian faith, was dying.

It might have been the most difficult time for her when her husband, Frank Gifford was lured by a one-time flight attendant to a hotel which had a hidden video camera, and the photos taken were exposed to the public.

She poured out her heart without any hidding to Euless televangelist James Robinson during a taping of his "Life Today" program, "you fall apart sometimes. For too long many of us Christians have tried to look like we have perfect lives ... I was devastated - emotionally and spiritually in every way. I had never stopped loving God, but I did wonder if he had stopped loving me. That was a hard place to be."

In those times her children's innocent questions about God restored her faith. When they asked her if there was anything God could not do, she answered them that He can not break His promises.

For the new album, "Gentle Grace", Kathie even co-wrote seven songs about God helping people in hardships in their lives.

Kathie has been a Christian since she was converted into Christianity at the age of 12 after watching Billy Graham movie, "The Restless Ones" at a theatre.
