Comedienne Kathy Griffin recently announced that she would be leaving E!'s "Fashion Police" after appearing in only seven episodes. On the March 16 episode of "The View," she finally explained why. She said that the show has a formula that didn't fit her since her style is "improvisational and off the cuff." Also, the show's system of making her criticize celebrity fashion wasn't suited for her.

"After awhile, I kind of felt like I was being forced to comment about pictures of beautiful women in perfect dresses and say bad things," she said. "As a feminist and a comic, it just didn't feel like the right fit for me."

Hosts of "The View" mentioned that Griffin was popular because of her rough sense of humor which sometimes could be on the verge of insulting and harsh. She did admit that there were things in her past that she would not be comfortable with today.

"But certainly, in my repertoire, I've said heinous things, I'm well aware of that, trust me!" she said. "There's a lot of stuff I've said before that I wouldn't say now... Comedy has to evolve." 

Griffin confirmed that she was able to leave the show on good terms, saying, "When it came time to leave, they were very nice to me. They weren't mean or evil."

Griffin's departure occurred almost immediately after Kelly Osbourne left the show as well. The future of "Fashion Police" is still undetermined but two hosts still remain — Brad Goreski and Guiliana Rancic. Speculation on who will soon replace Griffin and Osbourne have already begun. Amber Rose, NeNe Leakes, Khloe Kardashian, Naya Rivera, and Chrissy Teigen have all been reported to be runner ups for the position.
