Most teenagers still rely on their parents for their needs, but this isn't the case for Kylie Jenner. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star recently revealed in a new interview with UK InStyle magazine that she has been independent for several years.

Kylie, 17, said that she has been paying her own bills for years.

"My mom cut me off financially three years ago," she told the magazine. "I pay for everything — my car, my gas, and food, as well as my clothes."

The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner brood earns the money for her expenses from her various endeavors. Aside from appearing on her family's hit reality show, Kylie is a brand ambassador for Nip + Fab skincare and has a collection at PacSun with her sister Kendall. The two also have a book called "Rebels: City of Indra" and other branded products including OPI nail polishes, jewelry, and shoes. Recently, Kylie and Kendall also launched a clothing brand with Topshop.

The 17-year old is also a homeowner, having recently purchased a $2.7 million five-bedroom, 5.5-bath mansion in an upscale gated community in Calabasas, California, which she reportedly plans to move into in August when she turns 18.

However, a source told People that Kylie "getting cut off is more of a technicality," since her mother Kris still pays for the basic household necessities. The source said that Kylie is still being provided for by her mother.

"She had a refrigerator full of food and all the luxuries that come with [living with] Mom but unless it was a gift, if she wanted a Chanel bag, Kylie was the one paying for it," the insider revealed.

The source also said that Kylie pays her own credit card bills but since she is still a minor, Kris monitors her spending and "ensures that things don't get out of control."
