The wait for the highly anticipated release of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole's collaboration album continues.

Reports about the collaborative project between the two platinum award-winning rap artists have been going around for a while. But the artists remain mum about the record's release date.

Rapper and producer Oddisee shared his thoughts about the alleged Lamar and Cole collaboration during an interview with DJ Tim Westwood, as reported by All HipHop in Feb. 2016. According to the Washington, D.C.-based hip hop musician who has worked with the two artists, the project still exists.

"Everybody keeps talking about that record," Oddisee revealed. "They're doing fine without that record. I'm doing fine. It does exist."

Talks about the collaborative work between Lamar and Cole began when the "Apparently" rapper announced it to MTV's RapFix Live in 2011. "Me and Kendrick doing a whole ridiculous thing together that's gonna tear up the world," Cole stated.

Lamar backed up Cole's statement via MTV News several says later, saying: "What we got now is something incredible." He also shared a few details about the project, saying, "Everything's going to be 90 percent produced by him, me busting over them, and he should be featured on a few, too. I know he wanted to do most of the tracks. We got some records, man."

But years have already passed and the album is still unreleased.

Meanwhile, hiphop fans are still keeping their hopes high for the reported Lamar-Cole collaboraton. According to MTV News, their avid listeners could perhaps see the release of Lamar and Cole's collaboration during the March 11 event hosted by the Democratic National Committee in Austin as U.S. President Barack Obama invited J. Cole to perform at the said event.
