The highly anticipated collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole has yet to materialize, but speculations point out that the rumored project of two of the most popular hip hop artists today will still push through.

In a recent podcast interview with Rap Radar, Dreamville Records president Ibrahim Hamad explains Cole's teaser back in November about a project that was supposed to come in February. But the month has long been gone, and the album has yet to be seen.

"You know what? I will say that when even when he said that, you know like, we kinda knew that was a stretch," the recording company boss stated. "Cole is Cole and he knows what he's doing. He has his ways of getting things done and I think that at the end of it all, it'll be way worth it. Whatever he had planned in February, whatever it is, it'll be way more worth it if people just like...know that he, he's kinda like a mad scientist with his thing. He's like a little mad scientist."

Hamad's statement does not give a direct answer about Cole and Lamar's rumored project. It only proved that the "Apparently" rapper is still unprepared to work on the collaboration album. This might be because of the rappers' hectic schedule.

Just recently, Cole headlined the Billboard Hot 100 Fest in New York. On the other hand, Lamar became the frontliner at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles. He also recently helped other young rappers like ScHoolboy Q by appearing on his upcoming album.

The reps from both camps are expected to make an announcement soon.
