A lot of fans are getting impatient with the collaboration album between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole since the album was first announced back in 2012. However, with no confirmed updates, it might be possible that the collaboration will not happen after all.

According to the Ecumenical News, the possible reason why the collaboration album might have been cancelled is the jam-packed schedules of both Cole and Lamar. With the two having more and more prior commitments, their schedules will most likely conflict and the album will possibly never materialize. Right now, Lamar is tied down with Reebok's Classic Leather line, making promotional stints that promote unity, making him the perfect product endorser.

To further solidify this commitment, Damion Presson, the director of Reebok's entertainment marketing, said in an interview with Billboard back in June that Lamar is an authentic representative of today's pop culture, which makes him perfect to represent Reebok's innovativeness and authenticity. He even went so far as to say that there seems to be a seamless and organic relationship between the company and the idol that makes him the most qualified representative.

Aside from his work with Reebok, Lamar has a series of concert tours that began in July. He will then be busy with these concerts until the month of September, thus rendering him possibly unable to focus on other things. As for Cole, the rapper currently has five scheduled concerts starting this month until September as well, so it is highly unlikely for them to work on their collaboration, if they are even working at all.

However, fans are still brimming with hope that the two will finally settle down and proceed with the making of their collaboration. Of course, that will only be possible once they're both free from their commitments, which will most likely be around October.
