Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City F.C. was injured due to a forceful tackle attempt from his former teammate, Jason Puncheon, who plays for the Crystal Palace F.C. at the Premiere League. The injury that De Bruyne suffered will definitely hurt the team's chances for the season, as he is one of the team's major contributors on offense. De Bruyne's teammate, Gabriel Jesus, also suffered an injury during the first half of the same game.

Despite the injuries initially appearing to be quite serious, the general manager of Manchester City F.C., Pep Guardiola, stated during a press conference that the team is hopeful about De Bruyne's recovery given that it is not as bad as it seems. Guardiola estimates that De Bruyne may be out of commission for just a short while, and is positive that De Bruyne's recovery will be quick before he can get back on the field.

De Bruyne was sent off on a stretcher after the flagrant challenge by Puncheon, which caused concerns for the fans of the football club, Guardiola, and the rest of the staff of the team. Puncheon was only given a yellow card for the poorly executed challenge, and Guardiola beseeched the referees to take better care of the players of the Premiere League -- especially since the competition can get very physical majority of the time.

One of the commentators present during the game, Ian Darke, stated that Puncheon should have received a red card for what transpired between him and his former teammate. Perhaps Puncheon got lucky, and was able to get away with just a yellow card, which means that he will not be suspended.

On the other hand, Guardiola estimates that Jesus, who fell to injury just 23 minutes into the game, will need about one or two months to recover from the injury he sustained after bumping into another player from Crytal Palace F.C. The Brazilian player was in tears as he was being escorted out of the field, but is fortunate enough to avert a career-threatening injury.
