Oklahoma City Thunder roster news: Kevin Durant wants to get NBA season over with

Even before the 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) season started, it was a given that Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder would be besieged by people asking him what his plans are for the summer of 2016.

As everyone knows by now, Durant will be the top name that teams will be pursuing once his contract with the Thunder ends. And one of the teams that Durant is being linked to is the Washington Wizards.

Durant grew up there and apparently, this is what makes the Wizards a wise place to go. But the thing is Washington is only one of the few teams interested in Durant, including his current team the OKC Thunder.

As early as now, the Wizards fans have started to send feelers by practically begging Durant to move to Washington next year. Rather than be honored, Durant finds it a bit disrespectful, particularly for the players on the Wizards roster, Yahoo Sports reported

But Durant clarifies that he is speaking via a player's standpoint. Apparently, he wouldn't want the same thing happening to him just in case the setting were different. But other than that, Durant would have been, of course, astonished.

Regardless, the effort of the fans may only be realized once the season is over. Durant reiterated during the offseason that all he is concerned about right now is returning and playing ball — nothing more.

Rumors will be flying left and right and being the high profile player that he is, the ongoing season will require him to focus more than what he usually does.

Hence for now, it is all about helping the Thunder and ending the season on a high note. Will it be his final season? The answer to that is up for debate and the former NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) is likely going to shy away from the topic and be professional about everything.
