Khan could face Brooks or Thurman in 2016 too

Amir Khan may no longer be in the running to possibly face Floyd Mayweather Jr. since it's been reported that Andre Berto will likely be the guy to face the unbeaten American this coming September.

Moving forward, Khan is looking at several options on who to face next but the match might not take place until 2016. Khan did have plans to fight this November but no name has been mentioned for now.

Fast forward to 2016, three fighters have been mentioned as possible opponents — Manny Pacquiao, Keith Thurman, and Kell Brook.

Khan claims that he was approached by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum to face Pacquiao next year, possibly by early 2016. However, it seems that he has other opponents under consideration.

One is Keith Thurman, someone whom he has been jawing with lately. Khan was far from impressed when Thurman faced off with Luis Collazo, a former Khan foe.

Apparently the performance of Thurman was far from convincing to Khan (and to most who saw the fight), seeing how Collazo had a chance to pull one over Thurman if it weren't not for the cut over his right eye which forced the referee to stop the fight with just one second into the eighth round.

But what was more interesting was the fact that Collazo hurt Thurman in the fifth round, something that many — Khan included — are paying more attention to than his knockout win.

Thurman had wanted to fight Khan this coming fall but it looks like all that will have to wait for next year.

Another opponent Khan is considering is Kell Brook. Although he did say that he would prefer not to fight a countryman, a fight with Brook is not totally discounted.

For Khan, whoever he fights next will depend on the sensibility of the bout. Any guesses on who of the three could it possibly be?
