A person can only take so much but in the case of Khloe Kardashian, it doesn't seem surprising at all that she would give Lamar Odom a stern warning in connection with his past drug use — do it again and we are through!

Although such is not really surprising, the thing is Kardashian can only take so much. Their divorce was almost a done deal had it not been for the near-death experience that somehow doused the fire going on between the two.

With Kardashian showing her true feelings for the fallen cager, it doesn't, of course, follow that she will tolerate Odom's drug use in the future. Odom has promised not to do it again, although this kind of promise has been heard of before.

The case now is, of course, different. Should Odom do it again, he stands to lose not only Kardashian but his life as well.

Odom has seen the ill-effects of that cocaine and herbal-like Viagra combo on his kidneys. So can one imagine the other vital organs affected and how another episode could result in a more lethal blow?

Such is a reality and Odom is old and wise enough to know that. Kardashian actually doesn't need to give him an ultimatum if one thinks about it since a return to the drug-relying life is obviously the end of it.

For her part, Kardashian was apparently miffed at the criticism she has been getting for taking Odom back. Some may have a point while others not. But the thing is, she still has feelings inside and is the only one who can help Odom back up on his feet.

It remains to be seen if Odom can live a normal life again, but the thing is, if he wants to keep his partner, he must do his part as well. As it is in basketball, Odom is on his fifth foul. One more and he's out.
