"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" has arrived but its release brought along some problems, prompting the developers of the game to introduce a "day-one patch" in order to fix the slew of issues that came with the final version.

This said release-day update for "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" has clocked in at a big 23 gigabytes (GB), making it half as large as the game itself. With that said, the day-one patch is only for the console versions, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4), while the PC version might get something similar later depending on when the players will download the game.

Warhorse Studios, the developer and publisher of the game, has stated that the big patch was due to the development parameters for the consoles. During the production phase for the game, Warhorse had to submit "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" to the two console companies three months before the actual release, hence they still had quite a bit more to polish in the game in the span of three months.

This was why the patch was so big since it was three development months' worth of balanced quests, a smoother roleplaying game (RPG) progression system, a more optimized and stable graphics engine, and pretty much every other aspect of the game that needs more work done.

Warhorse did claim that "The drawback, of course, is that most of the data in the old build were replaced and have to be downloaded as a patch. At a hefty size, it's going to take some time and it's a shame. Still, we strongly believe that after a four-year wait, it will pay off to wait a little bit longer while the Day 1 patch is downloading. Trust me, it will deliver the awesome experience YOU deserve!"

The good news is that the day-one patch does not contain any new data, meaning that the 23 GB size will not add up to game's required hard disk space. Console owners will simply have to wait a few more hours or minutes before being able to play the game.
