'Kingdom Hearts 3' characters: Leaked footage from D23 Expo Japan 2015 confirms 'Toy Story' inclusion

Kingdom Hearts 3 Square-Enix

Fans caught a glimpse of "Kingdom Hearts 3" in the recent D23 Expo Japan 2015. While the event took place last month, it is only today that a short six-second video from the highly anticipated title comes to light.

The clip shows Sora, Goofy and Donald on board the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, which is currently dubbed by the web as the Shooting Ride. Fans will remember that a screenshot of the posse riding the said contraption was released weeks ago. The one in the clip looks like the Space Ranger Spin ride at Epcot, as per Comicbook.com.

In the video, the group swirls into a loop and performs the new Attraction Flow technique. The "Kingdom Hearts 3" footage also shows the gang put on a pair of spectacles with the clip quickly switching to first-person view to allow them to fire at the enemies.

Prior to the emergence of the footage, there were already talks about the game incorporating the "Toy Story" world. This is due to the fact that the elements, color and the makings of Woody and Buzz Lightyear's world merges seamlessly with the realm that developer Square Enix is going for.

The clip, which intends to summarize the D23 Expo Japan 2015 experience in a minute and a half, also shows Mickey on stage as he holds the keyblade and shows it off to the audience, who, in turn, also claps after being treated to an exclusive look of "Kingdom Hearts 3."

At the moment, the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" remains a mystery. However, there's a rumor going around that Square Enix will be releasing the game this month as a Christmas treat to fans.

Word on the street is that the developer is down to the finishing touches, which should allow it to release the much-awaited game before the year ends. However, with no concrete info to corroborate this yet, it is recommended to take the report with a proverbial amount of salt.
