Despite delays in the release of Square Enix titles like 'Final Fantasy XV" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.8," "Kingdom Hearts 3" remains one of the most anticipated game titles to come out in Japan.

Based on a survey conducted by the Japanese publication Famitsu, the game ranks seventh in the list of titles that gamers are looking forward to. The game shared the Top 10 spot with "Final Fantasy XV," "Pokemon Sun and Moon," "Dragon Quest XI" for the PS4, "Dragon Quest XI" for the 3DS, "Final Fantasy VII Remake," "Yakuza 6," "Monster Hunter Stories," "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Nioh."

However, it doesn't seem like the game will come out before 2018 after the release of  "Final Fantasy XV" was pushed back to Nov. 29 from an original target of Sept. 30.

"Kingdom Hearts 2.8:The Final Chapter" on the other hand, has been pushed back to January 2017.

Meanwhile, early trailers about "Kingdom Hearts 3" hint that characters from Disney hits like "Frozen," "Tangled," Wreck-It Ralph," "Big Hero 6" and "Hercules" will be included in the next installment. Based on a report by Itech Post, characters like Rapunzel and Beymax could also aid Sora in his next adventure.

There are also rumors that the next installment will be one of the biggest in the franchise given that the studio will be celebrating the 15th anniversary of the release of the original game soon.

As such, major characters from "Toy Story," "The Jungle Book," "Brave," "Zootopia" and even some characters from "Star Wars" and Marvel-created franchises are also expected to be included in "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Aside from the new characters, mainstays in the franchise are expected to continue to help Sora to accomplish his goal of finding the seven masters of light.

Among these characters are Goofy, Donald Duck, King Mickey, Master Eraqus, and Master Xehanort, who are expected to restore the balance between light and darkness.
