Square Enix has been building up they hype for "Kingdom Hearts 3" (KH3) even in the simplest ways, such as the box artworks of the high-definition collections that it offers.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed to Dengeki PlayStation (translated by KH13) that the box art for "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix," and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" create a representation of the changes in Sora's universe brought about by time.

"When you line up the three illustrations, you'll notice that they show the flow of time with changes in the sky. [KH1.5] is sunset becoming night, [KH 2.5] is the middle of the night, and [KH 2.8] is night breaking into dawn," Nomura explained.

"Those three illustrations have a message regarding the final chapter, [KH3]," the game director went on to say.

What that message is about is for fans to figure out. They should get a lot of time to get to the bottom of the mystery as "Kingdom Hearts 3" is still months away.

Nomura then also pointed out how "Kingdom Hearts 3" protagonist is pictured sitting in the first one, then sitting, and then walking in the latest collection.

Meanwhile, he also teased during the interview that "there is an overwhelmingly large amount of things one can do while playing as Sora in [KH3] time-wise," as compared to Aqua in "Kingdom Hearts 0.2."

As for the specifics, Square Enix will not reveal anything about "Kingdom Hearts 3" until "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" is released.

The HD collection was delayed from December to January, which means that fans will have to wait for a little while before they hear more about the game.

Previous reports, however, suggested that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released around March 2017, which will not be a long wait. "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" should help fans get through that last segment of the waiting game.
