Anticipation for "Kingdom Hearts 3" surged when a voice actor dished that the release of the role-playing game will happen this year. However, game developer Square Enix immediately debunked the information. Now, a report claims that it might come out in 2017. 

According to Youth Health, Sony professed in its official Sony PlayStation blog that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is not slated for a 2015 release. It added that the game may arrive in 2017, although it subtly stated that it may not either. 

The earlier hoopla among waiting fans of the RPG was stirred when voice actor Bill Farmer leaked the estimated time of arrival of "Kingdom Hearts 3" through social media. The actor, who lends his voice to "Goofy," teased that the much awaited game will be unveiled sometime this year.  When a Twitter follower tried to confirm the post, Farmer said that he was "certain" and he was told about it. According to Farmer, the recording of the game is still ongoing, but assumed that the RPG will be ready for worldwide release as soon as they wrap up. 

However, folks from Square Enix were quick to rectify the situation by tweeting that the game is still under wraps. 

"There was a Goof! The release date for @KINGDOMHEARTS III remains unannounced," reads the tweet from the developer's official account. 

As for Farmer's controversial tweet, it is now nowhere to be found and has been replaced by a new statement repeating the developer's words that the game is still unannounced. 

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is a highly anticipated sequel to the popular RPG and is expected to entail new key features in main character Sora's arsenal like a new Keyblade design and Keyblade Armor. The two items were teased in videos that surfaced online. However, nothing is for certain since the game developer and publisher are mum about the whole project. 

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is the first game in the series that will be released in the Xbox platform after the previous versions were released in PlayStation and Nintendo gaming consoles.
