'Kingdom Hearts 3' launching in December 2016?

"Kingdom Hearts III"Disney/Square-Enix

Fans of the popular Disney and Square Enix mash-up, "Kingdom Hearts," have some new information to sink their teeth into.

A new Amazon listing for the franchise's third installment appears to reveal some crucial information about the game, including how much it might cost and when it could be released.

Starting with the cost, currently, the price listed on Amazon indicates that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be available for $59.96, and that will include free shipping.

Taking a closer look at the listing actually reveals that the price of the game differs depending on the platform, though not by much. While the price is $59.96 for the PlayStation 4 version of "Kingdom Hearts 3," that figure drops just a bit to $59.00 for the Xbox One version.

It's unclear if the prices listed for the game are official.

Moving on to the supposed release date, the Amazon listing currently offers up Dec. 31, 2016 as the official launch day for the game. That date is simply a placeholder, however, and it may have no real significance as the actual release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" remains unconfirmed.

Interestingly enough, according to Yibada, even though that Amazon release date is unofficial, it may not be all that inaccurate after all. A supposed trailer that was released for "Kingdom Hearts 3" reportedly presented a possible launch window for the game, and according to that, it would be out by winter 2016.

Until Square Enix says anything official, all that remains for now is speculation.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will reportedly feature such Disney worlds as the ones featured in "Big Hero 6," "Hercules," and "Tangled." Other Disney worlds that could also end up in the final version of the game may also include "Toy Story," "The Jungle Book," and the eminently popular "Frozen."

Characters from the "Star Wars" and Marvel universes have also been rumored for "Kingdom Hearts 3."
