Spy films tend to bore people sometimes due to the predictable storyline and the serious, brooding atmosphere. Surprisingly, "Kingsman: The Secret Service" took an unexpected path in the genre by making the mood light and not taking it seriously, gaining box office success. It was a pleasant risk, netting the creators to produce "Kingsman: The Golden Circle."

According to Yahoo News, the sequel gets a new release date of Oct. 6, 2017, when it was originally slated for June 16. Although it moved away from competing with "Wonder Woman" and "The Mummy," it got itself aligned to another sequel, "Blade Runner 2049."

The date reshuffle wasn't because of the film's performance, rather a tactical strategy employed by Fox to rake in the big numbers, Comic Book has learned.

The original Kingsman film's success was something that no one saw coming, and it turned out to be a fantastic, unique take on the world of espionage. Such critically-acclaimed triumph saw big names coming into the cast, with the likes of Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Halle Berry and Julianne Moore playing as the main villain, IMDb reports.

Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and Sophie Cookson will be returning to reprise their roles in the sequel. It also appears that despite being shot at point blank range, Colin Firth is also coming back as Harry Hart.

In a previous interview with USA Today, director Matthew Vaughn said, "A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I'm coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back."

The question on everyone's minds now is who's going to take the role of Galahad? It can be recalled that in the first film, Harry stood as Galahad in the Kingsman, which was eventually assumed by Eggsy after his mentor got killed by Richmond Valentine, played by Samuel L. Jackson. This would probably be another surprise twist that fans will have to see.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will be about the Kingsman trying to work together with their US counterparts, the Statesman, to bring down an evil villain named Poppy and ultimately save the world.
