The pink lovable blob Kirby, another Nintendo superstar, is set to make a comeback this year through the new game "Kirby Star Allies" set for a release on the Nintendo Switch platform this coming March.

"Kirby Star Allies" is set to debut on March 16 of this year and was announced during the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, which detailed the new game as a Switch-exclusive title.

Aside from this, the presentation revealed other integral parts of the game involving characters, which they say will feature many familiar faces that players can choose to play as.

This new game will see players take on characters besides main man Kirby, and is primarily centered on a multiplayer co-op gameplay.

Here, players will need to play in groups of no more than four people to be able to make use of special abilities that are not accessible when playing in solo mode.

Besides this, developers HAL Laboratory has also upgraded Kirby's copy-cat powers in-game. Now, Kirby has The Artist ability, which allows him to create painting that comes to life to help him battle his foe. Another one is The Spider skill, which gives Kirby the ability to trap enemies in a sticky cocoon.

Currently, the game is available on the Nintendo eShop as a demo, where players can try it out before it officially hits shelves on March 16. The game is also up for pre-order and is valued at $39.99.

Kirby first debuted on the gaming scene back in 1992 through "Kirby's Dream Land," which was released on the Gameboy platform. And since then, its popularity has exceeded expectations that brought about many more game titles through the years. Kirby still stands as one of the most popular franchises to come from Nintendo.
