According to the latest New York Knicks trade rumors, the team is in a tug of war with the San Antonio Spurs for Greg Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks.

As per isportsweb, Monroe, despite being a talented low-post player, did not gel with the Bucks, who signed him in a three-year deal for $50 million last year.

The publication says that Monroe's veteran presence and scoring talents failed to shine this season and his lack of athleticism seems to have taken him over.

However, it is believed that he will be a productive player with the right team and the Knicks, as per trade rumors, are reportedly hoping to see that happen with them.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that the Knicks have been on a roll with the trades. Just recently, they made jaws drop after nabbing Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls.

However, as per the latest Knicks trade rumors, the franchise reportedly regrets having Rose on board, with the former Chicago big man being involved with a sexual battery lawsuit.

Rose and a couple of his friends are being accused of drugging and gang-raping a woman, who happens to be a former of lover of his. The case is expected to go into trial this October, the same month the Knicks training camp begins.

At the moment, the Knicks have yet to comment on Rose's legal issue. However, if he ends up doing some jail time, it will seriously hurt his new team and will be a painful blow to them knowing what they had to lose to have him.

Rose's new teammate, Carmelo Anthony, is reportedly pressuring him to settle the issue. However, just a couple of days back (around the same time news about Rose's sexual battery lawsuit broke out), Melo said he is happy with the Knicks newcomers.

"We love those additions. And we're looking forward to getting the season going. And I think everybody is excited, the excitement is back," Anthony told ESPN.

"Right now there's an adjustment on paper, but of course we have some work to do putting it all together, making it work. But we're going to ride the wave of this excitement right now," he went on to say.

During an ESPN interview, Rose recognized that the Knicks will be big next season and that many are starting to call them a "super team" right up there with the Golden State Warriors.
