The beat goes on for Konami, as the company is now actively looking for developers who will be working on a project they have dubbed as "New Metal Gear."

That would appear to be the name of the project itself, at least according to the job listing. 

Konami is currently on the lookout for "highly-skilled game development professionals" who will be able to turn the page for the franchise and move it into a new era.

The listing also contains the qualifications for those who will be applying for the new project.

People who want to work on "New Metal Gear" will need to have "experience in high-end game development," a passion for video games and creating them, good communication skills and what the company terms as "boundless imagination," according to the listing.

Applicants who are interested in the new job opportunity with Konami will need to submit their applications along with resumes containing their past projects and even their portfolios if possible.

The job ad lists both of Konami's Tokyo and Los Angeles studios. That bit of information is interesting, mainly because earlier this year, Konami announced that it would be shutting down its Los Angeles studio, IGN reported.

It's unclear if the Los Angeles-based studio will be opened up again once work begins on "New Metal Gear."

The job listing would seem to indicate that Konami does indeed plan to move forward with the "Metal Gear" franchise even without its creator Hideo Kojima.

As for Kojima, the game designer has since moved on from Konami and has signed on with Sony to work on a currently unnamed project that will be headed to the PlayStation 4 and the personal computer (PC), GameSpot reported.

Currently, the release dates for both Konami's "New Metal Gear" and Kojima's new project with Sony are still unknown.
