A game based on the hugely popular "Kung Fu Panda" film series will be making its way to console platforms soon, courtesy of publisher and developer Vicious Cycle and Little Orbit.

Vicious Cycle and Little Orbit, the names behind other titles such as "Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom" and "Penguins of Madagascar," will be coming up with "Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends."

As with other fighting games, the title will feature a multiplayer mode wherein gamers get to choose fighters from over 20 characters, starting with Po. Other characters also include Tigress, Master Shifu, Monkey, and others.

Game modes include Versus, Tag-Team, and Team Play with focus on online multiplayer gameplay. Aside from the multiplayer aspect of the game, there are also a number of single player modes that let players practice, get in a one-on-one fight with an NPC, or fight consecutive battles in a tournament. Locations for fighting arenas include many familiar areas featured in the first two movies.

There is also planned expansion content for the game when the third movie hits theatres next year.

Speaking about the upcoming game, developer Little Orbit said, "We are very proud to team up with DreamWorks Animation to extend the world of 'Kung Fu Panda' in a new exciting way. This is a perfect match-up to bring this extraordinary series to gamers who love a great multiplayer martial arts game."

Scheduled to be released this coming fall, "Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends" is a fighting game with the character roster based on the "Kung Fu Panda" series of movies. The title will be launched for the current-gen consoles Xbox One and Playstation 4, and will also be made available for older platforms Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game will also roll out for PC and Wii U.
