LA Lakers news: Is Jeremy Lin moving out?

His name was mentioned among potential players that the Miami Heat would be interested in but nothing really came out of it. Los Angeles Laker Jeremy Lin seems to be a popular name these days as the trading frenzy of players go up a notch.

It is no secret that Lin is not on the same page as resident superstar Kobe Bryant. Apparently both have conflicting approaches to the game, perhaps one of the reason why Lin has being less action under the watch of coach Byron Scott.

Hence, the speculations begin that Lin may be up for trade soon though it remains to be seen where the Harvard graduate would eventually end up. Miami would have been a great fit for Lin, especially since it could result in a more balanced attack.

However, it seems that Lin's $8.3 million dollar contract is standing in the way. This means that the Heat will have to give up some resources to. The Heat made it known that they are open to parting with Luol Deng but only at the right price. A straight swap between Lin and Deng seems highly unlikely to materialize.

Another player that is being whispered around is Tobias Harris of the Orlando Magic. Harris is seen as someone who could eventually take the place of Kobe Bryant once the Black Mamba leaves but to do so, the Lakers will need to come up with something tempting for the Magic to bite.

As it stands now, all that is pure talk. Harris has made it known that he wants to stay in Orlando but if the Magic get an irresistible offer, chances are all that would not matter anymore.

As the Lakers are in the rebuilding stages, an option could be to include a third party into the fray. With the Lakers current roster, there is not really one single player that could appeal to other teams unless it would be a deal including multiple players.
