LA Lakers trade rumors: Is Steve Nash headed for the Phoenix Suns?

Steve Nash is a veteran point guard with years and years of experience and knowledge of the game under his belt. However, in the last two seasons, Nash wasn't able to perform very well due to his injuries. LA Lakers has been struggling, too, and there's news that Nash may be traded.

Nash first suffered from a broken leg. After that, he suffered from nerve damage from that broken leg. He hasn't been healthy enough to play his A-game in the past two seasons, and by next summer, Nash will be a free agent.

Someone asked Larry Coon of Basketball Insiders if Nash will be traded by the LA Lakers. Coon answered and said that if Nash is healthy, there might be home for him on his old team.

"As for Nash, if he's healthy, then I can absolutely see a team looking for an experienced, veteran leader wanting to bring him in, like OKC did with Derek Fisher the last few years. And even with the glut of point guards in Phoenix, I can see them bringing him back home as an elder statesman and face of the franchise, especially if he has any plans of a career transition that keeps him with the club."

With his age and recent string of injuries, it may take something big to prove to a new team that Nash deserves a spot in their roster. Nash's $9.7 million contract with The Lakers will end July 2015 and, as Coon said, the Phoenix Suns may get Nash.

Right now, the Phoenix Suns have four guards in their roster namely Eric Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas, Goran Dragic and Tyler Ennis. How would the aging Nash fit in? HNGN reported that these young guards "are young and would benefit from the experience and knowledge Nash has, especially as the team eyes a postseason run."
