This year is shaping up to be a good year for Lady Gaga. Not only did she get engaged to her boyfriend Taylor Kinney last Valentines' Day, but she also made her acting debut in a well-loved TV series.

This week, the "Born This Way" singer made her television debut in the premiere episode of "American Horror Story: Hotel" as a countess with a penchant for drinking blood. Critics noted that the role appeared to be made for the singer, as Lady Gaga's eccentric stage persona, regal bearing, and passion for fashion seem to tie in with the role quite nicely.

While many applauded the singer's decision to be on TV, Lady Gaga said that initially, she wasn't sure what her fiancé would think about her being in the FX series.

"What guy in that scenario would be like, 'Sure babe, do TV'," she said to E! News.

The "Applause" singer said that since Kinney was on "Chicago Fire" and her main career was music, she didn't know if he would be supportive of this new endeavor.

"He does TV, that's his thing. I do music, and you know, we're together. But I sort of was like, 'Is it cool if I do TV?'" She added that Kinney's response was a resounding yes.

Lady Gaga said that the actor has been "exponentially supportive the entire time" and that he offered to help her prepare for her acting debut.

The singer said that Kinney was very enthusiastic about the project, telling her that they can read scripts together, talk about their characters, and that he can teach her about working on a show.

"He taught me all about etiquette and what actors would appreciate during their coverage," she revealed. She added that Kinney taught her to be always available to the other actors and to not drop her character when the cameras are on them.

During the premiere, the singer took to Twitter to let her followers know that she was watching the show and that she had Kinney by her side.

"Watching at home on the couch with my baby @TaylorKinney111 keeping me calm," she wrote.

And it looks like fans could get to see more of the singer in the series as show creator Ryan Murphy tweeted on Wednesday, Oct, 7 that he has officially asked the singer to join season 6.

"Say yes @ladygaga!" Murphy wrote.

While the singer has not commented on whether she would be back for another season in the FX series, she did confirm that she would like to try acting in a film.

"I'd really like to do a film now. I'm ready to do a film," she said.
