The Los Angeles Lakers have not gotten anything profitable from the NBA Free Agency, but there is still time left.

Despite failing to land any high-profile names such as LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan or Greg Monroe, the best thing the Lakers can do right now is lower their expectations a bit. And so it starts.

First off is Lou Williams, a surprise recruit considering the guard was not even mentioned as a prime target. Regardless, the Lakers were able to get Williams after both camps agreed to a three-year deal worth $21 million.

Williams played last season for the Toronto Raptors and was acquired in a trade involving the Atlanta Hawks. Though Williams did suffer an ACL tear in January 2013, he has bucked the odds and is coming off a banner year with the Raptors (15.5 points per game) that led to him winning the Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Aside from Williams, the Lakers will have plenty of slots to fill, and another player possibly headed over to them is Brandon Bass.

Bass is known as a role player and stands to beef up the power forward line of the Lakers. At the moment, the Lakers have sophomore Julius Randle, Ryan Kelly and Larry Nance, though it wouldn't be surprising if one of them may be eventually unloaded.

Bass may not be an explosive scorer, but he does get the dirty work (rebounds and defense) done, something that the Lakers will surely benefit from. Paired possibly with Roy Hibbert, the team may somehow take shape despite a not-so-star-studded group.

To make room for the new recruits, the Lakers may be looking for a team interested in Nick Young. Kelly could also go to free up the power forward position as well, being the pricier one compared with Nance.

Given that the Lakers don't have too many options right now, Williams, Bass and Hibbert may not be bad despite then absence of the superstar tag.
