Hearing that multiple strokes were the cause of Lamar Odom's unconscious state back in Oct. 13 is nothing new, but the latest reports reveal the actual number.

Odom suffered 12 strokes and such is singled out as the prime reason why the former National Basketball Association (NBA) player is unable to talk and walk.

This was determined when Odom underwent a series of brain scans and will require quite some time of physical therapy with no assurance of making a full recovery, according to attending physicians.

It has already been a given that Odom will have a long road ahead to recover, but his mobility problems are just one of the many feared problems he stands to face.

The first identified problem that Odom has are his kidneys, a reason why he underwent immediate dialysis before showing positive signs after falling into a coma.

From an initial three to five hours a day kidney dialysis, Odom is now receiving six hours of dialysis daily at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Aside from his kidneys, he may also require a liver transplant to survive.

Just last Thursday, Odom had to undergo two surgeries due to chest problems which have now placed his health in a more fragile state.

Estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has remained by Odom's side since day one throughout this ordeal as she hopes for more improved developments on her husband.

The two were in the middle of divorce proceedings but all that has been officially canceled when the papers were pulled out from the assigned judge. Kardashian has also broken up with Houston Rockets star James Harden, although it seems the "Bearded One" still wants her to tell it straight to his face or at least via phone call.

Odom's privacy is something that is critical at this point and to make sure he does have such, a 24/7 security team has been assigned by the doors of his hospital room.
