National Basketball Association (NBA) veteran forward Lamar Odom is having a great recovery and his estranged wife, reality star Khloe Kardashian, recently gave an update on the two-time champion's condition.

Kardashian was promoting her new book entitled "Strong Looks Better Naked" and in an interview with Extra's Terri Seymour was asked about Odom.

"He's definitely doing better which is awesome, every day is better, he's off of all machines that, he is alive on his own, and no machines are helping him which is great, but he still has a lot of physical and cognitive therapy to go through, so it's a long road for him," Kardashian shared.

She also said there are days when Odom is really strong but sometimes he is weaker, believing that it is "mentally draining" on him.

Kardashian added, "He will try to learn to how to walk so that is first. When he can support himself on his own, or physically try to walk better on his own, or at least with an assistance, with like a walker, then he will probably leave the hospital and do a lot of cognitive and mental strengthening."

Last month, Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada.

The 36-year-old former NBA player was comatosed and was in life support before gaining consciousness with Kardashian staying with him all throughout the ordeal.

Kardashian being with Odom caused a stir since she is currently dating Houston Rockets star James Harden.

The reality star and the NBA veteran decided to call off their divorce, believing that it is helpful for his recovery.

In the interview, Kardashian also shared that as of the moment they are not thinking about the current status of their relationship since Odom's medical condition is what they are really focusing on.

Odom last played in Spain but in his NBA career had stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Lakers, and the Dallas Mavericks.

In the 2013–14 season he signed with the New York Knicks with the year closing and did not play a single game before being waived.
