Lamar Odom has miraculously shown vast signs of improvement, according to multiple reports earlier Friday.

The first piece of good news came when the former NBA player's heart was reportedly functioning, a good development considering previous reports of multiple organs failing.

Even more good news followed when Odom opened his eyes and was able to speak.

According to Alvina Alston, the spokesperson of Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer, the doctor asked the cager how he was doing and the former basketball and reality star responded with a thumbs up and spoke as well saying "Good Morning."

From there, it was revealed that he had indicated wanting to see his children, Destiny and Lamar Jr. He was also reportedly able to say "Hi" to his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian who stayed by his bedside.

According to Jim Harrick, Odom's former coach, Khloe has promised to stay by the side of Lamar until both can walk out of the hospital together.

Right now, doctors are trying to see if Odom can freely breathe on his own. He is slowly being taken on and off a ventilator and being checked if he could breathe with a breathing mask.

The latest developments are quite huge considering he was initially given a fifty-fifty chance of survival had no improvements shown in the ensuing days. Should Odom be able to breathe on his own, such could be a major breakthrough in his recovery.

It remains to be seen what other possible damage may have been caused by the multiple strokes Odom suffered last Wednesday when he was found facedown and unconscious at the Nevada brothel.

He was believed to have taken a combination of cocaine and herbal-like Viagra, a lethal combination.

Odom's condition has been likened to the same fate that the late Bobbi Kristina Brown had suffered, only that Lamar did not lose oxygen to the brain as long as she did.
