Fans of the HBO comedy television series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" need not fret about the show going into an indefinite hiatus again after the ninth season. HBO announced on Thursday that the show is renewed for a tenth season — with production commencing next year at spring.

When asked about the decision to renew the series for a tenth season, Larry David said, "As I've said many times, when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so." The execs at HBO are also glad about the show's return. "We are thrilled that Larry will be back with his uniquely acerbic wit and comedic sensibility," said HBO programming president Casey Bloys.

Apparently, the quick announcement of the show's renewal was due to Larry David's full commitment to do another. According to Executive Producer Jeff Schaffer, Larry had so much fun filming season nine that he can't wait to do it again.

"Usually, at the end of a shoot, he's absolutely sure he's never doing it again. But this season was different, during our last days of shooting he was already thinking about reloading," Schaffer told Entertainment Weekly.

It also helps that despite the six-year hiatus, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season nine was well-received by viewers and critics. Just this week, the show's latest season was nominated for two SAG Awards-- Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy and Outstanding Male Performer in a Comedy Series for David.

Season nine brought back some of the show's original ensemble, including Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Jeff Garlin, Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and Cheryl Hines. Several guest stars also appeared at various episodes including Elizabeth Banks, Lauren Graham, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Nick Offerman, and Bryan Cranston.

Although the official date of production for the tenth season is already announced, the show's official premiere date is yet to be revealed. In terms of season 10's content, nothing has been finalized as of yet, but Schaffer mentioned that the only thing absolute in the upcoming season is — Larry would not be killed by the angry Iranian man he was running away from in the season nine finale. 

To those who don't know, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is an HBO-produced comedy television series where Larry David stars as a fictionalized version of himself. Like in real life, the fictionalized Larry David works in the entertainment industry, and most of the episodes in the series are about the altercations and funny everyday banter he has with family and friends. 

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" is created by Larry David himself, with showrunners Jeff Garlin and Jeff Schaffer.
