'The Last Guardian' to make appearance at E3 2015?

"The Last Guardian" was first shown off in a short but spectacular trailer by Sony and Team Ico during the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo, but there hasn't been a single footage or screenshot ever since. Despite this, news outlet The Guardian still listed "The Last Guardian" as one of its most anticipated games for this year's E3, hinting that the game is not yet dead.

According to a report from IGN, Sony did state in 2014 that the game was still progressing forward but now under "completely new conditions," which has the site speculating that "The Last Guardian" might have shifted gears and is now being developed for the PlayStation 4.

Team Ico, which is actually an in-house development team for Sony Japan, hasn't developed any new title ever since "Shadow of the Colossus" which came out way back in 2005. The HD remaster of their two games for the PS3 was handled by a different team, Bluepoint Games.

This means that at some point since 2005, Team Ico had been working on "The Last Guardian." It's been 10 years later, six years after the game's first trailer, and there has been absolutely nothing to confirm that the game still exists. Even if it does, The Guardian points out that it may no longer be the same game previously shown in 2009.

"The Last Guardian," as it was showcased in 2009, involves a young, unnamed boy who befriends a giant monster that appears as a cat/ bird hybrid, which is named Trico. The two are on the run from guards and the player must treat Trico like a real animal such as luring it with food or calling its name to be able to cross streams and climb over walls.
