Rumors on the second installment of Naughty Dog's hit game "The Last of Us" have been making rounds in the Internet, as fans seek news on potential plots and release date. It appears, however, that they need to wait a few more years, as the game's creator has no intention of releasing it soon.

In a recent interview with Power up Gaming, Neil Druckmann refused to discuss details about the game, but he did share his thoughts regarding all the false rumors. Even though he was sorry for the fans who were kept in the dark, he said that most of the misleading news have helped them enhance the overall experience of the game.

"We're very conscious about what we want to show in gameplay, what we want to show as far as the story goes, and then we have like a spoiler list of 'Here are the things we're never going to talk about and we're never going to show' because we want them to be completely fresh when you play the game," he shared.

Meanwhile, several plotlines have been keeping the fans entertained while waiting for the official announcement by Naughty Dog.

According to Movie Pilot, the main character Joel may be killed off in the game and that Ellie would be on an adventure of her own.

The website said that Joel's death would usher in an emotionally charged part two, as Ellie fights for survival by herself. In the suggested plot, Joel was dying in Ellie's arms after he saved her from the Infected. Afterwards, Ellie would have several emotional scenes as she reflected on her life with Joel.

Highsnobiety noted that this ending for the game where "Joel's emotional attachment to Ellie that ultimately leads to his climactic decision to spare her life" was the best end it could have had.
