'Law & Order: SVU' season 17 episode 18 spoilers: Fin furious over Benson's termination from SVU
Aside from the fans, Detective Fin Tutuola (Ice-T) seems displeased after he learns in the next episode of "Law & Order: SVU" season 17 that Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has been ousted from the Special Victims Unit.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ice-T revealed that his character was shocked when he found out after his short vacation that the head of SVU had been transferred to the Community Affairs Bureau after admitting in the previous episode that she has a romantic relationship with Captain Ed Tucker (Robert John Burke).
"He's like, 'What the f—? How did that happen? I've only been gone a week. What happened?' They try to explain it to me. It was a simple case, but there's more to it. It's basically from her messing around with Tucker, she got herself in a twist," the actor-rapper said.
However, Ice-T explained that Benson's fans should have nothing to worry about, since there will be redemption coming in the future episodes of the series.
"It's a conflict of interest, but we right it. It rights itself. Even when we're trying to help get it right, she's still on the show and you see what she's going through," the actor added.
The upcoming episode titled "Unholiest Alliance" will see the continuity of the sex trafficking case that seems to have a very deep connection with the authorities, the government, as well as the Catholic Church. But Benson will do everything that she can to get to the bottom of it to finally get hold of the real culprit and redeem herself so she can return to the SVU.
However, the promo clips for the episode imply that Sister Nina (guest star Abigail Savage) will be in danger, and Benson will be the next one who will be put at risk. Can Benson prevent more danger while looking for the real culprit?
"Law & Order: SVU" season 17 episode 18 airs Wednesday, March 23, on NBC.
