"Law & Order: SVU" season 17 will tackle the center of the biggest real-life crime story of the year, Robert Durst. Just recently, the New York City mogul was the center of an HBO documentary titled "The Jinx," which dives into the murder accusations hurled at the real estate heir.

This will be the center of the two-hour premiere of the long-running crime drama scheduled to air on Sept. 23. The promo for the episode features black plastic bags with body parts that drifts to the shore and a man being caught on tape saying, "Kill them all, whatever it takes."

This line seems to be a spin to the incriminating statements Durst whispered during a hot-mic recording in the documentary, which said, "What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course."

It was this revelation that implicated him after almost getting away for lack of evidence.

The plastic bags, on the other hand, are "Law and Order's" take on the killing of Durst's neighbor Morris Black, whose body was found floating in garbage bags in Galveston Bay. Durst said he killed Black to defend himself. The deaths of his wife Kathie and his friend Susan Berman are also being pinned on him.

As indicated in the promo, this case is "ripped from the headlines" and is one that "America will be talking about... again." Durst's counterpart in the show's 17th season is Dr. Greg Yates, who already appeared in the series back in April and was played by Dallas Roberts.

This isn't the first time the series is featuring a real-life case. In the past, the police procedural drama has depicted ones involving Ray Rice's TMZ video that showed him knocking out his wife, the shooting of Trayvon Martin, as well as Casey Kasem's death, and Paula Deen's racial comments that led to her public shaming.

"Law & Order: SVU" season 17 will premiere on Sept. 23.
