'League Of Legends' Patch 5.2 to launch soon; New features, glitch fixes and more

League Of LegendsWikipedia

The first of two patches for League of Legends is expected to come out sometime this week. Patch 5.2 will carry some changes to characters such as Ahri and Annie as well as some other character champions like Veigar, Mordekaiser and Katarina.

Though the patch may seem like an anti-assassin update, the developers through their blog explained that they are trying to look into the matter to somehow balance the role of assassins in the game. Apparently, everything about the assassin is an ongoing process and perhaps the ample modifications could be included in Patch 5.3.

And while the character updates seem like something to look forward to, there was an issue concerning the DFG (Deathfire Grasp) that the developers found too tough to address. Admitting that the DFG was a tough item to balance, the item has been officially removed.

Other than that, here are some of the things you can expect with the new patch.

Overlapping Crowd Control Effect (v2.0)

This feature is expected to be turned on sometime next week after a few extra bugs were discovered.

Attack-Move commands in Stealth

When used as an attack-move, this command it will attack the nearest target- even when in stealth mode.

Updated Champions

The following characters have had updates on their abilities.

  • Tristana
  • Ahri
  • Akali
  • Annie
  • Azir
  • Cassiopea
  • Fizz
  • Kah'Zix
  • Nidalee
  • Rek'sai
  • Sejuani
  • Syndra
  • Zed

Aside from the characters, the update does cover a lot of ground as well. That includes modifications to certain items, game modes and even audio settings. For gamers who want to get a complete rundown on the patch, the patch notes can be found here.

As far as the patch in general is concerned, some may like it while others may not. But take note that this is just one of two patch update installments. While no word is out yet on when patch 5.3 would come out, hopefully it will carry more improvements and address glitches too.
