Rapper and Christian artist Lecrae was reportedly stopped by a police officer on the road as he was on his way to an exclusive event. The incident happened last Dec. 22.

The story was told by the recording artist himself when Lecrae posted a Facebook status recalling how a police officer reprimanded him as he was entering the parking lot of an unnamed venue where he was to attend an invite-only event.

"He literally refuses to let me get a word out and His final phrase was simply 'MOVE Now!'" Lecrae recalled in his Facebook post. He goes on to add that although he does not believe all officers act this way, he shared the incident because "it happened and it's frustrating."

Lecrae was accompanied by female friends who convinced the artist to let the incident slide. The Facebook post has been seen by many of Lecrae's fans who follow him on Facebook, including a man named Chris Mills, who says he is a police officer as well and apologised in behalf of the other officer. The post has been shared over 800 times to date.

Lecrae concluded his post by saying "I use my voice because I've been to countries where people have NO voice. By Gods grace I can in this country."

Apart from producing and writing music, Lecrae also takes time to coach and mentor professional athletes. His website bio, quoting ESPN, says that Lecrae is highly sought after by players and team chaplains for his prayer sessions, which usually last 45 minutes and happens a few hours before games.

The recording artist has received multiple awards including the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, which was awarded to his sixth album Gravity, and the 2015 BET Award for Best Gospel Artist which made him the first rap artist to win the award. Lecrae now has seven albums produced.
