The video game developer Valve Corporation has a lot to answer for when it comes to their long overdue sequels as fans have continually been expressing their dismay over the games' apparent delays. One of the titles that fans are eagerly anticipating includes the third main installment in the "Left 4 Dead" horror video game franchise, "Left 4 Dead 3."

Despite the constant request from fans for any updates regarding its possible development, Valve still continues to keep mum on the subject. It has already been seven years since the last game in the franchise — "Left 4 Dead 2" — was released, and the long wait has only managed to agitate fans.

Some of the franchise's fans have already given up on the notion and are already trying to accept the fact that there won't be a sequel.

However, other fans are still hopeful that the game is indeed in the works, with most of their enthusiasm fueled by the constant rumors about the game's existence.

Just recently, a leak was uncovered in the files of a Valve employee named Tristan Reidford. The employee apparently posted some screenshots of his tutorial for Valve's Destinations Workshop tool, some of which strangely contained a folder that was labeled "left4dead3." Fans were then quick to deduce that the company may have been secretly developing the game after all and that they were just keeping it very hush-hush as of the moment.

Of course, there have been similar incidents over the years which included an apparent leak on Steam's databases where a reference was also found concerning  the game.

Some reports have also claimed that fans were able to see some references towards the anticipated sequel on several monitors during a tour of Valve's studios. The company, however, still continues to keep silent amidst the rumors, so it would be safe not to assume anything for now.
