There have been rumors of "Left 4 Dead 3" in development in recent months. It was recently reported that Turtle Rock Studios, the developers of the first two games, were rumored to be making the third game but this was later debunked. As stated in a report from Ecumenical News, fans of the franchise will need to wait for the E3.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo will be held from June 14 to June 16 and numerous game studios will be present to showcase their upcoming game projects, from showing reveal trailers to presenting playable demos to the fans. It is expected that Valve, publisher of the "Left 4 Dead" games, will be making a crucial announcement during this time.

Fans speculate that Valve may finally announce that the game is indeed in development and may be released some time soon or at least confirm or deny any of the rumors surrounding the game. Valve may confirm that the game series has been put on hold until the company can later spend more time to get it done.

Valve has notably been focusing primarily on VR technology and the Steam digital platform. The company has been silent in the aspect of developing new games. The most recent game from Valve is "DOTA 2," which launched back in 2013. The company also released "The Lab" but this was solely for the VR unit, the HTC Vive. 

Several months back it was believed that Turtle Rock Studios were working on a new game in the franchise but as the report reveals, this was debunked and the developers explained that the job listings on ther website were for an entirely new IP that was not related to "Left 4 Dead 3" or any of Valve's other games such as "Half-Life."

"Left 4 Dead" first launched back in 2008 for the PC and Xbox 360. It was quickly followed by "Left 4 Dead 2," released in 2009.
